PREPARATION CHECKLIST AT ORIGIN:

Make a list of items being moved

Materials needed for packing:

Labels (name, move or do not move, room, fragile, etc)
Packing materials for your glassware, dishes for added safety
Boxes for lamp shades, mirror, pictures or wardrobes
Tape
Clean rugs and drapes
Use up perishable food
Arrange for transport of plants, pets and perishables
Dispose of flammables (best given to a neighbor) Never flush of through in garbage
Defrost and clean refrigerator, freezer, one day before move; clean stove
Arrange for disconnection of utilities
Return all items borrowed, collect all items lent

MAKE TRIP ARRANGEMENTS:

Obtain your family medical and dental records
Obtain your family birth records
Obtain medical records for your pets
Request your current bank to arrange credit references for new accounts
Request travelers checks, cash or certified check for moving expenses
Close or transfer bank account

Leave your new address with real estate agent, Also, keys if home is not sold yet
